21 Story Building Collapse in Ikoyi Lagos State

 


A 21 story building under construction along Mosley Road in Ikoyi, Lagos state collapse with over 40 workers inside the building at the time it went down. The building which is owned by Olufemi Adegoke Osibona (aka Fourscore) was said to be approved by the state government for 21 story, but it is believed that it is the construction that failed. 

Rescue team with ambulance and onlookers were at the scene to help rescue out workers that were trapped inside the collapse building.



Governor Sanwo Olu with his team, has since visited building scene of the collapse building and the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) Mr Gbolahan Oki, has been suspended over the collapse building.

According to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) over 22 dead bodies has been dug out so far and many are still receiving medical attention in the hospital.

The Lagos state government has promise to foot the medical bills of all rescued victims. While rescue operation is still going on at the time of writing this report.


This is one of the surviving worker that was in the building at the time it was collapsing. He said he had to jump to the nearest building when the building started collapsing.
